The retina is the structure responsible for capturing light and sending images to the brain. When it is affected, vision can deteriorate progressively or suddenly. At CeMPE, we address pathologies such as macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, or retinal detachment with a comprehensive approach combining early diagnosis and minimally invasive treatments.
Our goal is to preserve functional vision for as long as possible, offering safe medical solutions adapted to each patient's needs.
At CeMPE, each diagnosis is performed with state-of-the-art technology, such as Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) and advanced angiography. Detailed study of the macula and optic nerve allows us to detect alterations even before symptoms appear.
Our medical team evaluates each case personally, offering pharmacological, laser, or surgical therapies according to the disease stage and patient's visual needs. Prevention and follow-up are key in our approach.
What symptoms may indicate retinal disease?
Blurred vision, loss of central sharpness, distortion of straight lines, or appearance of dark spots (scotomas) are warning signs that must be evaluated immediately.
Are intravitreal injections painful?
No. They are performed with topical anesthesia and in a sterile environment. They are quick and safe procedures allowing the patient to resume normal activities in a few hours.
Can retinal diseases be prevented?
Yes. Maintaining periodic ophthalmological control, especially if you have diabetes or family history of AMD, is the best way to prevent irreversible damage.
Treatments performed at CeMPE help stabilize and, in many cases, improve central vision. Our commitment is to accompany the patient throughout the process, offering continuous attention and personalized reviews to protect long-term visual health.
